"The founder of the revered Attack!!!! magazine has set about creating his own modern mythology... You've got to read it to believe it, but the inside of this guy's head is like some netherworld that nobody's opened the door to until now" - Review of Labours in Dazed and Confused, October 2007 "All of my loved ones are covered in scars. My mother, my father; their mothers and their fathers. Their brothers, and their sisters, and my brothers, and my sister. My brother's children. Their friends and associates. My friends and associates. Their friends and associates. Their chests and their necks and their backs and their shoulders and their sides and their bellies and their buttocks and their thighs and their hips and their knees and their shins and their calves. And their arms; their elbows, wrists and hands. Both sides. Their faces. The crevices under their arms. The hollows behind their knees. The soles of their feet. Their scalps. All of it covered in scars. Every girl I ever kissed, in every place I ever kissed her. Every boy she ever looked at that wasn't me - but only the ones that weren't me..." Labours is a series of twelve texts inspired by the twelve tasks of Heracles in Greek Mythology. I have been trying to make all twelve parts available as separate booklets to buy by subscription - but that's proving rather ambitious, so I'm going to be looking for an agent or publisher for the text. Please contact me on dotdashdash.dashdash@gmail.com if you'd like to see sample chapters (this applies to ordinary human beings as well as members of the publishing fraternity). I will be sending the remaining parts out to all those who already ordered them shortly. Many thanks. back to main page Mailing list: |
